‘V’ a 4 part Mini-series to?

Apparently ABC has the same cold feet that infect NBC, when it comes to their new sci-fi series V which will now air in November as a 4 part mini-series. The other 9 episodes will air, but who knows when. Is there a trend building here is the mini-series coming back into vogue, it makes sence from the studios point of view in these uncertain times to test the waters first, and we all get a story that starts and ends in 4 hours. of course with a plethora of unanswered questions that will lure us back at some later date for more of the same. It fells like 1983 again all we need is the “Fixer” but  can anyone replace Micheal Ironside   Source: [SciFiCool]

‘Day One’ downgraded to Mini-series

Day One
Day One
NBC has decided to cut its order of the sci-fi thriller DAY ONE from an original 13 episodes to a 4 part mini- series due to cost concerns and to give the station a chance to gauge viewer interest for possible further development… [more] I was looking forward to this one, the whole survival in a post apocalyptic world thing was always one of my favorite sittings for a good Sci-fi. all you have to do is watch ‘The Last Train’ for an excellent example This 6 part mini-series was released in North America as ‘Cruel Earth’ Being a British production it has a gritty realism that Hollywood seems to have forgotten how to make.                                                                                                                 I’m still looking forward to the watching next year and who knows we may even get a better story out of this in the end   Source: [Digital Sky]

Stargate Universe

Stargate Universe

There seems to be a growing trend to split seasons and following that split DVD releases the cynic in me says this is a ploy to make use pay more but i’m sure thay have some good reasons for doing this. Well it sounds like Stargate Universe is going in that direction  Source: [GateWorld]
